Description

I usually pay a lot of attention to composition. To be honest it's one of the most important things to me in my photos, so I always try to make it work.
However, one thing that I have realized while experimenting with night photography is that you can't really see much thru the viewfinder, if anything. This means it's darn hard to compose the different elements in the picture. Most of my night shots ain't that strongly composed, but I hope they have that something else in 'em to compensate the result.

Before I got this photo, it took me friggin long to take the test shots (to figure out a suitable shutter speed) that the moon had slowly moved away from the centre of the scene. Well, that's just too bad. Also a gentle breeze waved the flower a bit, but fortunately it didn't become all blurry after all. And as if that wasn't enough, I was constantly worried that the lens would become steamy cause of all the fog, which would have had the same kinda blurring effect on the picture.

As challenging as night photography is I find it damn cool to explore dark forests and silent suburban areas when there's no one else around.

Taken in Nokia, Finland with Sigma 10-20mm.
